Sparrows Group needed a new website, separate from sparrowsgroup.com, to attract people from non-oil and gas backgrounds. The site had to demonstrate that the company was interested in people’s experience and the skills they have, rather than the qualifications or sector that they’d been working in.
Working closely with the Sparrows in-house marketing and communications team, we designed the website to initially target members of the armed forces. We ensured the site clearly communicated the company’s interest in transferable skills by using the stories of individuals who had come from army, navy or RAF backgrounds and gone on to have successful careers within Sparrows Group.
The fully responsive site includes a CV upload area and can link to the Sparrows online jobs portal if required. The site also uses the Craft content management system (CMS), allowing the Sparrows team to edit the content for other types of recruitment campaigns.
During the initial 6-month armed forces campaign, the site attracted over 4,000 users and over 100 applications. Seven individuals were employed in what are seen as long-term positions within the company.
